A vow to protect the earth

A vow to protect the earth

To celebrate Earth Day, Sag Harbor Elementary School first-graders in Dayna Disunno’s class participated in an engaging lesson on reducing their carbon footprint and made promises to be kind to the planet.

As part of the lesson, the students pledged to take part in activities that will keep the earth clean and healthy, including picking up garbage, not wasting water and planting more trees.

They continued the lesson with a planting project in which they planted flower seeds in ice cream cones. Once their flowers start to grow, they will take them home to care for them.
